This is a part-time as needed position; the Regional Inventory Arborist will report to their local office and perform production duties on a daily basis when not on inventory assignments. When a BIS Tree Inventory project is sold, the Regional Inventory Arborist will be requested to perform the tree inventory services (typically includes over-night travel for projects). The Regional Inventory Arborist works pro-actively with Arborist Representative and clients to provide complete tree inventory, tree risk assessments, management plans, and reports.

  • Reports for duty at the designated location on time each day for tree inventory projects
  • Ability to work with a remote location and willing to travel over-night
  • Learns, understands, and adheres to BIS and company safety policies
  • Participates in all safety training sessions offered, asks questions, and improves job safety skills
  • Have the ability to collect tree attributes including the assessment of tree health, vigor, structure, and provide Arboricultural recommendations
  • Prepare management plans, using Microsoft Office, ArborScope™, and Trimblesoftware
  • Communicates well with team members, Arborist Representative, and client;·Follows directions from BIS Core Team, Division Manager, and Arborist Representative
  • Strives to improve job skills and develop professionally
  • Learn to use Level 3 Advanced Assessment equipment



  • ISA Arborist Certification
  • Experience in each of the following categories: tree identification, tree risk assessment, pest and disease management, and pruning
  • Candidate must be willing to learn all aspects of Arboriculture
  • Strong written and verbal skills and an ability to work with all forms of technology


  • At least 3 years’ experience practicing Arboriculture 
  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) or ability to acquire within 6 months
  • An understanding of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or experience in Trimble Global Positioning System (GPS) hardware and software
  • Degree or certificate in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, or a related field
