Iron Creek Nursery is located in central Bucks County, PA, we are growers of top quality annuals, perennials, ornamental shrubs & trees and fall crops to support our own landscape/design division in addition to supplying other landscape companies and plant enthusiasts.

We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Nursery/Greenhouse Grower and Assistant Grower to manage production of our 14 acre nursery. These positions require motivated and responsible individuals with a passion for plants. These are hands-on positions responsible for managing all aspects of our annual, perennial, shrub and fall crop production as well as customer service duties.

 

Key Responsibilities for Nursery/Greenhouse Grower & Assistant Grower:

·       Create, follow through and update crop schedules

·       Develop and utilize a written schedule of tasks to be completed over a 7-14 day period

·       Inspect all growing areas and identify any plant requirements and possible issues

·       Monitor and manage plant cultural requirements, water, pruning, fertility and IPM programs

·       Monitor EC and PH of well water and fertigation water and utilize injectors to appropriately mix                   fertilizer

·       Apply chemical applications as needed with appropriate protective equipment while following all                 WPS and pesticide laws

·       Maintain all records of pesticide applications

·       Maintain all records of production programs daily including entering production numbers into                     database

·       Manage a crew of 2-4 staff members in all facets of plant production

·       Coordinate pulling, quality control and shipping of customer orders         

·       Must be willing to perform other duties as needed to ensure plant production quality

 

Qualifications for Nursery/Greenhouse Grower & Assistant Grower:

·       Horticultural Degree (Associates or Bachelors) plus a minimum of 3 years industry experience

·       Must have or be able to obtain a PA Pesticide Applicator’s License

·       An active self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced                         environment

·       Ability to organize and prioritize duties for maximum efficiency

·       Ability to follow directions and work independently, as well as supervise and work as part of a team

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)

·       Ability to tolerate varying weather conditions

·       Ability to lift 50 lbs. and to perform strenuous physical tasks

·       Ability to work longer hours during peak season, some weekends required on a rotating schedule

·       Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable transportation

·       Ability to speak Spanish, a plus but not required
