A position is available at a large private estate in Woodside, CA. Mature formal gardens include extensive turf areas, a lake, meadow, orchard, rose garden, vegetable garden, cutting gardens, formal garden rooms, orchard, and extensive hedges. This full-time, permanent position supports the Estate Manager in meticulous management of grounds, structures and facilities, and a large solar array acting as Assistant Caretaker.

Candidate must possess: strong horticultural/floricultural knowledge, excellent written and oral skills (English), and experience with all aspects of formal garden maintenance. Applicant must have experience growing cut flowers, fruits vegetables and orchard material. The Assistant Caretaker may be responsible for floral arrangements for the owner’s household from time to time. Candidate needs to be reliable, motivated, hardworking, and able to work well alone or with others. Daily documentation and record keeping is essential. Strong IPM and Organic Horticultural skills are required.

This is a great opportunity for a knowledgable gardener who appreciates long-term dedication to a formal landscape and that is willing to make a long term commitment to the employer. Previous work experience in Private Estates, Public Gardens, and/or related fields is desirable. Bilingual (Spanish/English) ability helpful but not essential.
