We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our nursery farm in West Olive, Michigan. This position requires a strong background in horticulture and farm management to ensure the successful growth and maintenance of various plant species. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising all activities related to plant cultivation and farm management.
Crop Management-
- Plan and oversee the planting, nurturing, and harvesting of various
nursery plants.
- Implements best practices for soil preparation, irrigation, fertilization,
and pest control.
-Monitor plant health and quality, take corrective measures as needed.
Staff Supervision-
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of farm workers.
- Assign tasks and ensure that the staff follows safety and operational
protocols.
Farm Infrastructure-
- Maintain and repair equipment and structures used in plant cultivation.
- Manage inventory and order necessary supplies for farm operations.
Budget Management-
- Develop and manage the budget for the nursery farm.
- Monitor expenses, track costs, and make financial recommendations to
optimize farm performance.
Record Keeping -
- Maintain accurate records of plant inventory, growth cycles, and other
relevant data.
-Prepare reports for senior management on farm performance and
future plans.
Environmental Compliance -
- Ensure the farm complies with all environmental and agricultural
regulations.
-Implement sustainable and eco-friendly practices as applicable.
Customer Relations -
- Interact with customers and provide information about available plant
varieties and pricing.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and address any inquiries or concerns.
