Primary Responsibilities

Requirements
· Successful Management experience, preferably in the horticulture industry.
· Excellent communication skills
· Verifiable success as an effective team leader.
· Able to obtain a pesticide license.
· Basic irrigation knowledge preferred
· Strong attention to detail
· Some plant knowledge is required as well as the willingness to continue learning and growing that knowledge.
· Basic construction skills are a plus.
Daily Responsibilities
· Open and close store and prepare for customers. (ie start cash register turn on lights etc.) or train a key holder to do so.
· Be sure all employees arrive at work on time and clock in.
· Make sure all indoor and outdoor plants have been watered prior to customer arrival.
· Check inventory indoors and outdoors.
· Assist customers at times of heavy store traffic.
· Ensure all policies are being followed by all employees.
· Ensure customer satisfaction.
· Handle any customer or employee issues.
· Update inventory to allow for any bad stock or dead plants.
· Print Bar codes for new products as they arrive.
· Check all inbound orders for accuracy and report any problems immediately.
· Ensure cleanliness and organization on the sales floor.
· Ensure proper signage is set for all items.
· Close cash register each day and ensure all balances are correct.
· Work with employees to ensure any nursery or plant maintenance is being done.
· Ensure accurate care is being taken of each plant and its individual needs are being met.
· Ensure correct product placement depending on the plants needs. (i.e.. Sun or Shade, annual or perennial)
Pay and Benefits
This position offers a starting salary of $50,000 and increases based on experience. Paid Holidays and 2 weeks vacation each year. Health Insurance reimbursement each month. 401K match.
Please note that the store operating hours will be 9-5 Wednesday-Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday. Since this is a Salary position there is not set schedule. Manger will be expected to be onsite as needed and maintain a 40 hour work week. During Spring weekends will be mandatory for the manager to be on site. Store may close during off season months such as January for maintenance.
