As an Account and Operations Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the branch operations to provide the highest quality of service to our customers while achieving gross profit and customer retention targets. This is a hands-on, in the field management position as well as an office setting position. Must be comfortable on job sites organizing crews and equipment and be comfortable with computers utilizing our CRM software as well as basic Microsoft Office suite-basic excel skills. Requiring excellent customer service, organizational skills, and a fundamental understanding of the landscape plant industry. Plant Solutions is a full service landscape management company so the qualified candidate must be comfortable with planting jobs, irrigation, mulching, mowing, maintenance, hardscapes etc.
The key responsibility of this position will be managing crews, customer service calls, expediting job tasks, ordering hardscaping, plant and mulch materials, making everything run smoothly and efficiently.Must be able to delegate, manage, and participate in all job functions. Oversee the scheduling and overall completion of projects including the coordination of all materials, staff, and equipment, required to produce a quality job. Must possess the ability to think forward, make decisions as well as identifying and solving problems. Communicate with clients about work orders and job details, assuring that our customers receive an exceptional experience and upselling when needed. Degree in horticulture or other related field or equivalent experience. 3+ years track record of landscaping management experience
- Ability to operate a forklift is a must, to unload plant material off tucks
- The ability to learn and apply proper practices by following safe work practices and company set standard operating procedures
- Comfortable using computer, proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and smartphones and tablets. Can be trained on CRM software-Arborgold, willing to learn new systems. Utilize computer systems (Arborgold) to manage crew scheduling, purchasing, and crew time reporting to ensure quality, efficiency, and profitability targets per job
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment while also being able to lead and direct crew members on job tasks
- NJ driver’s license required, clean driving record. CDL is a plus
- Achieving profitability targets

- Provide daily work schedules to field staff and provide instruction to ensure Crew Leaders and crew are prepared to complete the jobs efficiently and safely
- Visit job sites on a regular basis to ensure all work is completed in adherence to safety policies, operational standards, and contract specifications while ensuring complete customer satisfaction
- Conduct consistent safety training and perform safety inspections on job sites
- Supervise employees, keep attendance records, enforce proper uniform and safety equipment use
- Forecast staff, equipment and material needs to complete future jobs
- Order materials, equipment and supplies as needed within purchasing limits
- Continually assess operational procedures and make recommendations to enhance value, improve efficiency and share those insights to further the goals of the company
- Inspect vehicles and equipment on a regular basis to ensure legal compliance, maintenance needs, and safety issues
- Maintain maintenance records for vehicles and equipment.Ensure that facilities and equipment are clean projecting a positive image of the Company
- Monitors costs weekly and immediately report any jobs deviating from budgets of time, schedule, cost or any other factor so appropriates adjustments can be made to maximize end result
- Become the main point of contact for assigned accounts solving all issues related to these accounts
- Ensure that urgent situations are addressed and executed promptly
- Off-season snow responsibilities and management of all snow operations
- Other duties as assigned by management
