Landscape & Property Maintenance Technician
We are a private estate in the greater Annapolis area, looking for a landscape & property maintenance technician for full time work. This may include weekends during the summer season, generally from 8am – 5pm, with weekdays off. Winter hours will be weekdays. Must be flexible.
The property consists of 25+ acres with wooded areas, open lawn and meadows, gardens around the buildings and several themed gardens with complex plantings.
You will be working for the property manager in a small team, including a gardener, providing landscape maintenance property wide.
You will assist with mulching & maintaining landscaped beds, including invasives control. Tasks may include plantings of annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, groundcovers, and any other plant material as well as basic pruning per instructions.
You will also assess irrigation needs based on cultural conditions, check for soil moisture levels and work with property manager to address needs and leaks promptly. Turf maintenance skills are desired.
You will be responsible for cleaning of all outdoor spaces/paved areas, setting up and maintaining outdoor furniture. This will include regular beach, pool, and pond clean up, paths maintenance, gutter cleaning, and potential snow removal in winter.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years practical experience in landscape/property maintenance;
Must have good people skills, a committed work ethic and willingness to work in a collaborative and congenial manner as a team player;
Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions;
Bend, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs;
Be able to traverse rough and uneven terrain;
Ability to work with various tools and equipment including pruners, string trimmers, backpack blowers, saws and able to drive utility vehicles;
Maintenance knowledge of gas-powered equipment a plus;
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus, but not required;
Willingness to further horticultural knowledge, attend First Aid training, adhere to written safety protocols;
Must have a clean driver’s license and have own reliable transportation;
Employment conditioned on consent to a background check;

Must be willing to sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement;
