Valley Color Growers is a wholesale supplier of quality bedding color and container plants with two locations in Ramona, CA. We have expanded to second yard and now have over 40 acres in production. Our new yard is filled with 5g and 15g waterwise plant production.

Valley Color Growers is family owned and operated. We have been in business for over forty years, with two goals in mind, to grow the best bedding color and container plants and to provide our customers with outstanding service. We are looking for grower familiar with color, perennials, and waterwise shrubs to join our team.

This position is a hands-on grower working with our production team to maintain, improve appropriate crop environments from soil, fertilization, irrigation, pest, and disease management.

Grower should have comprehensive knowledge of wholesale color production including watering practices, spacing requirements, preventive spray program, growth regulation program, pest management, pinching requirements, fertilization requirements, soil formulations, and optimal light levels.

Grower to ensure that a quality product be available at the correct time and follow production plans to meet our sales goals. Should be a team leader and able to supervisor and have excellent communication skills, bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

Grower should be computer literate, including Window-based software including excel, word, and outlook. QuickBooks would be helpful.

Grower will be trained to help with production, purchasing, contract grows and inventory.

Must have reliable transportation.

Willingness to work weekends as needed.

Able to repetitively bend, stretch. Reach, lift, stand, and walk with unrestricted motion. Ability to work in inclement weather and can lift 50 pounds.

Professional Experience – 5 Years progressive experience in wholesale color or nursery stock production and references. Salary based on knowledge and experience.
