POSITION OVERVIEW:

The ThinkPlants Program Representative will be the Perennial Technical Advisor and Sales Support for ThinkPlants.

Job Duties:

Program Representative and Sales Support

· Develop strong knowledge of ThinkPlants genetics, programs, and supply chain

o Provide grower and technical support

o Deliver the ThinkPlants messaging to the North American market

o Deliver effective Retail and Grower presentations as needed

· Training Sales Representatives for perennial sales

o Follow up with Sales Representatives on sales activities, trials, and other customer needs

o Develop strong working knowledge of key grower plant trials and customer goals

o Pursue new ThinkPlants customers or market segments

Oversee the ThinkPlants Trial Program

· Develop appropriate systems for working with ThinkPlants rooting station participants to ensure successful coordination and shipment of all trials, including grower trials, retail trials, sales representative trials, and public garden trials

· Maintain strong awareness of all perennial trials shipped directed by key suppliers

· Develop new ThinkPlants trial availability for non-retail growers and work to establish the production and shipping of these trial via our member rooting stations

· Develop reporting of trial products and growers

· Assist in the production of breeder trial reports

Oversee the ThinkPlants Tradeshow Plant Growouts

· Assist in developing an annual master tradeshow list to use for strategic planning and internal communication

· Coordinate all tradeshow plant growouts and oversee the delivery of material for tradeshow use

· Work with ThinkPlants participants on tradeshow growout planning and expectations for tradeshow materials

· Develop reporting of tradeshow related plant needs and status of materials

· Setup and attend major industry shows, such as MANTS (Baltimore, MD), Home Depot (Pomona, CA), CAST (Gilroy, CA), Bell Nursery Home Depot (Elkridge, MD), Battlefield Lowes trials (Rapidan, VA), Cultivate (Columbus, OH)

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Business, or a related area or relative experience

· 3-5+ years of experience in commercial greenhouse growing preferred

· 3-5+ years of experience in sales, account management, and/or product development

· Ability to travel 50% or more as needed

Physical Environment & Requirements:

· Climate controlled office or home office environment

· Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking

· Frequently requires sitting, standing, fine dexterity, and handling

· Occasionally requires walking, climbing stairs, lifting (up to 20lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching

· Rarely requires climbing
