Chimney Rock Gardens is a small, detail-oriented and organically-minded landscape maintenance company based in Cornwall, CT. We maintain a variety of properties and estates throughout Litchfield County with a focus on quality, efficiency, and individualized services.

Job Description:

We are looking for one full time and two part time gardeners to join our team for the upcoming gardening season from mid-March through mid-December.

Example of Typical Tasks:

· Perennial and annual plant care—amending, deadheading, dividing, moving and transplanting when necessary

· Ornamental grass and shrub pruning using both hand and power tools

· Regular weeding and monitoring for pests and watering

· Annual, perennials, tree and shrub planting

· Planting, maintaining, and watering containers

· Invasive plant management

· Spring and fall garden and property clean up

The ideal candidate will have most of the following qualifications:

Previous experience with fine gardening and an existing knowledge or desire and ability to learn about plants and horticultural practices

Ability to work with a positive attitude both in a team and independent setting

Interest and understanding of garden design

The ability to listen to, read, and take directions

Ability to anticipate and prepare for daily tasks

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Ability to perform physical field work and lift up to 50 pounds

Willingness and ability to consistently document completed work tasks and observations

Ability to work in all weather

Frequent kneeling and bending of knees and back
