SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in landscaping or ground maintenance activities. As a Landscape Supervisor at A Safe Haven, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and coordinating the efforts of our dedicated team engaged in landscaping and ground maintenance activities. Your expertise will be instrumental in nurturing both our green spaces and the individuals within our workforce development program.

Compensation: Full time, year round; Starting at $21/ hr DOE + Full Benefits (Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K Matching, PTO)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Directly supervises (4 to 5) employees within the Landscaping department.

Directs activities of workers who perform duties such as mowing turf, mulching, weed, trash removal, tree/shrub installation and pruning, and flower installation.
Monitors project activities to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained.
Manages inventory of tools, equipment, or materials to ensure that sufficient supplies are available.
Ensures all equipment is maintained and in usable condition.
Trains, motivates, develops, and directs team as they work.
Evaluates each team member to provide career development feedback.
Monitors/assesses performance of others and/or organization to make improvements or takes corrective action.

· Transports crew members to different job sites in assigned vehicles.

· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Valid State of Illinois drivers’ license.

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in landscaping.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Ability to maintain composure in difficult and complex situations.

· Use equipment and materials properly (i.e., lawn mowers, cutting tools, chain saw).

· Saturday work hours may be required.
